Stuart, as published by the Waterloo Daily Courier, Waterloo, Iowa.  2) Added Joseph Dorr Barber and his wife, Bertha Sabrina Fish, who were the parents of Mrs. Percy E. Stuart [Grace Geraldine (Barber) Stuart] and grandparents of Margaret Jean Stuart.  Information for this update is from various cited censuses, biographies and death and burial records.

Sweet and unknown companions.  Information for this update came primarily from various censuses of Bradford Co., Pennsylvania, as well as records of the Macedonia Cemetery, Asylum Township, Bradford Co., Pennsylvania.

19 Oct. 2008:    5612      Discovered proof that Kepford Ricker, Jr. and Edith Leaf were married in Chicago on 02 Sep 1954, in a new Ancestry.com online database, Cook County, Illinois Marriage Index, 1930-1960.
14 Oct. 2008:    5612      Corrected the name of the mother of Edith Leaf from Edith V. Peterson to Edith Nelson after finding a California newspaper report of her death where her name was given as Edith N. Leaf, and finding the birth certificate for Edith Leaf, born 12 Mar 1932 in Chicago, the daughter of Arthur William Leaf and Edith Nelson.  Also replaced the parents of Edith V. Peterson with the parents of Edith Nelson, who were John H. Nelson and Laura C. Johnson, both born in Sweden.  Additional sources for their names and life facts were several censuses of Marinette Co., Wisconsin.
8 Oct. 2008:    5612      Added the grandparents of Edith (Leaf) Ricker, wife of Kepford Ricker, Jr., and the daughter of Arthur Leaf and Edith V. (Peterson) Leaf.  Arthur Leaf was the son of John Leaf and his wife Emma (--?--) Leaf, both born in Sweden and immigrants to Wisconsin.  Edith V. Peterson was the daughter of Charles E. Peterson and his wife Cecelia (Olson) Peterson, both also born in Sweden and immigrants to Minnesota and migrants to Wisconsin.  Information for this update came primarily from censuses of Minnesota and Wisconsin.
6 Oct. 2008:    5608      Determined that Edith V. Leaf, wife of Arthur Leaf, must have been Edith V. (Peterson) Leaf.  Information for this update is from the 1910 US Census of Wisconsin, which shows that there are only two women with the given name Edith V. born about 1903 in Wisconsin.  Both of them are named Edith V. Peterson and both of their parents were born in Sweden.  One is a bit too old to be the Edith V. Leaf who died in 1968 in San Mateo Co., California.  The California Death Record for Edith V. Leaf that shows Peterson as her mother's maiden name was probably a mixup and should have recorded that her father's last name was Peterson.
5 Oct. 2008:    5608      Added Arthur Leaf and his wife, Edith V. (--?--) Leaf, who were the parents of Edith (Leaf) Ricker, as found in her obituary.  In addition I found them in the 1930 US Census of Chicago, Illinois, his probable birth record in the Ancestry.com online database, Wisconsin Births, 1820-1907, and her death record in the RootsWeb online database, California Death Index.  She died in 1968 in San Mateo Co., California, which is the county where her third grandchild was born in 1961.
4 Oct. 2008:    5606      Discovered the Social Security Death Index entry for the death of Edith (Leaf) Ricker, wife of Kepford Ricker, Jr., and her obituary in the Santa Rosa, California, Press Democrat.  These two sources permitted me to add and update several previously unknown life facts for her.
26 Sep. 2008:    5606      I discovered that the obituary of Mrs. Jessie Kepford Ricker stated that when she died on 8 Apr 1929, she had been cared for by her son, Kepford Ricker, Jr., and her daughter-in-law, Isabel (Stuart) Ricker, his wife.  That means that they had been married before 8 Apr 1929.  With that information and the 1930 US Census indication that they were both age 24 when they married, I was able to specify that they were married between 25 Aug 1928 and 8 Apr 1929, probably in Los Angeles.
23 Sep. 2008:    5606      Added eight individuals who include two husbands of Jean Stuart Ricker, daughter of Kepford Ricker, Sr. and his wife, Isabel (Stuart) Ricker.  Plus three grandchildren, who are children of Kepford Ricker, Jr. and his wife, and two grandchildren, who are children of Jean Stuart Ricker and her first husband, and the spouse of one of those children.  Most of the information for this update came from correspondence with one of those living grandchildren.
15 Sep. 2008:    5598      Found that the Mason City Globe Gazette, newspaper of Mason City, Iowa, reported the death of Marjorie Emmons, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Carl Emmons, of Emmons, Minnesota.  The newspaper reported that she was hit by a truck in Emmons, about 10:00 o'clock on 15 Jul 1929, and was taken to the Lake Mills hospital where she died about an hour later.
14 Sep. 2008:    5598      Added six more living individuals who are descendants of Phyllis Isobel Emmons and her first husband, Palmer V. Kvale.  These persons are the spouse and descendants of the last Living Kvale in the previous update.  The information for this update came from the same source as the previous update.
12 Sep. 2008:    5592      Added seventeen living individuals who are desendants of Carl G. Emmons and his wife, Sarah Rebecca Emerson, by their daughter Phyllis Isobel Emmons.  Five of whom are grandchildren of Phillis and her first husband, Palmer L. Kvale, and the others are their spouses and children.  Information for this addition came from correspondence with one of those living grandchildren.
9 Aug. 2008:    5575      Added Jonathan Conick/Coneck, a son of James Conick and his first wife, Elizabeth Wallis.  Jonathan's birth was recorded in the Townsend, Middlesex Co., Mass. Vital Records and I just missed him when I added the other children of James Conick and his two wives, several years ago.
30 July 2008:    5574      Added sources and a few life facts for descendantants of Thomas Hayward and his wife, Harriet Desmond.  Information for this update came from additional corespondence with a living researcher of this family and other sources as cited.
25 July 2008:    5574      Corrected the name, death date and location for Carrie (Mackey) Becker to Caroline E. (Mackey) Becker, whom I had shown, incorrectly, as dying in Tacoma, Washington, in 1945.  I was informed of this by correspondence with a living researcher of this family, and as I realized from the obituary that I had found for this person, which indicated that she had different children than the actual Caroline E. (Mackey) Becker.  The correct Caroline (Mackey) Becker died 19 Apr 1950 in Springfield, Illinois, per my correspondent and a brief obituary published in a San Antonio, Texas, newspaper, where her daughter lived.

15 July 2008:    5574      Corrected the name of Edith Mamie Ellsworth to Edith Mamie Monear, as indicated by correspondence with a living grand-niece.  Also added her parents and added the parents of her first husband, Bernard Imanuel Ostby.  Information for this update came from that correspondence, The Ostby Family Tree, World War I Draft Registration Cards and various censuses as cited.

Pastorino, who was Louis John's older brother.  Information for this update came from a living sister of Carolyn (Senter) Pastorino, the 1900 census of San Jose, California, the 1930 census of Santa Rosa, California, World War I Draft Registration Cards and the California Death Index.
3 July 2008:    5567      Added the spouse of Iva May Braley, who was Louis John Pastorino (a.k.a. John L. Pastorino), two of their living children and Carolyn (Senter) Pastorino, the deceased spouse of one of those children.  Most of the information for this update came from a living sister of Carolyn (Senter) Pastorino.
28 June 2008:    5563      Added Alice Hathaway, who was the spouse of Russell Braley, and added 16 of their descendants and some spouses of those descendants.  This addition was triggered by correspondence with one of these living descendants who is a half 6th cousin of my father.  Information for this addition came primarily from the book Braley Genealogy, The Descendants of Roger Braley, several censuses of New York and other records.
16 June 2008:    5546      Discovered that it was not just family lore that Earl G. Ostby had died of drowning in Los Angeles, California, in 1931.  That story was published in The Evening Tribune, Albert Lea, Minnesota, Thursday, May 14, 1931.  My transcription of that brief article is included as a source for his death information.
14 June 2008:    5546      Added Florence Gale Hayden, who was the spouse of Clarence P. Ostby, and added two of their children, born before the 1930 census.  Information for this update came primarily from the 1930 census of St. Paul, Minnesota, but also from the Social Security Death Index and California Death Index.
13 June 2008:    5543      Received, yesterday, the death certificates for Mrs. Edith Eyrich, who was wife of Bernard I. Ostby and Henry G. Eyrich, and for Mrs. Earl Lucille Ostby, who was the first wife of Earl G. Ostby.  The certificate for Mrs. Edith Eyrich confirmed that her maiden name was Ellsworth and provided other details about her life.  The certificate for Mrs. Earl Lucille Ostby provided her birth date, but, as I was told, it did not include her father's surname or her maiden name, which I knew was Cousins, from a living granddaughter.
10 June 2008:    5543      Changed the identity of the Frank Perkins who was the spouse of Marion Elizabeth Flanders because I made a mistake when I estimated the age of the previously selected person.  This person IS shown in the 1910 census to have been born about December 1909.  This was found in 1910 census of Grafton Co., New Hampshire.
9 June 2008:    5543      1) Added James V. Clynch, who was the spouse of Muriel S. Ostby, and added two of their children born in California.  Information for this addition came from the California Birth Index and the Michigan Death Index on Ancestry.com as well as the 1930 census of San Antonio, Los Angeles Co., California and the 1920 census of St. Paul, Minnesota.  2) Added two spouses of Burton A. Ostby, and their seven children.  Also added three children of George Leigh and Estelle Lorraine (Ostby) Leigh.  Information for this update came from correspondence with the living great-granddaughter of Bernard F. Ostby mentioned in the previous update.

Ostby and his wife, Alice Sylvia (Olsen) Ostby, who tells me that she has copy of the death certificate of Bernard F. Ostby's, mother Edith Mamie (--?--) Ostby and whose maiden name was Ellsworth.  She also indicated that she had more information about this family that she has offered to share.

Blackmore.  Information for this addition came from the Social Security Death Index and several cited censuses.

Raistrick, who were John Raistrick and his wife, Sophia A. (--?--).  Information for this update came partially from the Flanders book, below, but primarily from several censuses of Windsor and Rutland Counties of Vermont and of Hampden Co., Massachusetts.

31 May 2008:    5487      1) Received e-mail from a living researcher of the Eaton-Raistrick Family with information that the spouse of Clifford Warren Flanders, whom I had as Maude A. (--?--), was actually Maude Amy Eaton.  In return I provided her with some information about her Flanders connection.  2) Added a living son of Bernard F. Ostby and Alice (Olsen) Ostby, as reported by a posting on the Ancestry.com Ostby Message Board by a living son of his.
28 May 2008:    5486      Added George Leigh who was the husband of Estelle Lorraine Ostby in northern Michigan.  Information for this update came from their death records in the Social Security Death Index and a ZABA Search of recent Michigan public records.
27 May 2008:    5485      Added Lucille (--?--) who was the first wife of Earl G. Ostby in Minnesota and was the natural mother of Estelle Lorraine Ostby who was first found in 1930 census of Nunda Twp., Freeborn Co., Minnesota, living with Bernard Ostby and his wife Alice Olsen, in Alice's mother's household.  Based on that census I had inially assumed that E. Lorraine Ostby was a natural child of Bernard Ostby and his wife Alice Silvia Olsen.  I have revised my database to show that she was a niece of Bernard F. Ostby and adopted by Bernard and Alice.  Lucille Ostby died 17 Nov 1927 in Ramsey Co., Minnesota, and I have written to the Minnesota Historical Society for her death certificate, which will hopefully provide more information about her.
26 May 2008:    5484      Revised the date of death of Earl G. Ostby from 18 May 1936 to 11 May 1931, because I had missread the California Deaths Database page that listed his death.
25 May 2008:    5484      Revised the spelling of the name of the wife of Bernard I. Ostby from Mami (--?--) Ostby to Mamie (--?--) Ostby, because I had misread the 1910 Minneapolis, Minnesota, census.  After their divorce she married Henry G. Eyrich and in the 1920 and 1930 censuses she is known by the name Edith M. (--?--) Eyrich.  The Minnesota Historical Society reports that Mrs. Edith Eyrich died in Ramsey Co., Minnesota, in 1936, and in the hope of determing her maiden name I have sent for her death certificate.
24 May 2008:    5484      Yesterday I received the 2nd Death Certificate for Mrs. Mary Emerson from the Minnesota Historical Society -- this one is for Mary (Harvey) Emerson, widow of William Emerson, who were the parents of Sarah "Sadie" Rebecca Emerson, who was the wife of Carl G. Emmons.  It shows that she was born Mar 23, 1844 (a change from Mar 1843) and died 2 Nov 1928 in Kiester, Faribault Co., Minnesota, and was buried 4 Nov 1928 in Kiester Cemetery.
23 May 2008:    5484     1) Added three more children of Bernard I. Ostby and his wife, Edith Mami (--?--) Ostby, as found in the 1910 census of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and the 1920 census of St. Paul, Minnesota.  Also added the a spouse of one of those sons.  As found in the 1930 census of South Gate, Los Angeles Co., California.  2) Added the only known child of Bernard F. Ostby and his wife Alice Sylvia Olsen, who was E. Loraine Ostby, born about Dec 1928, and found in the 1930 census of Nunda Twp., Freeborn Co., Minnesota.
22 May 2008:    5479     1) Added the parents of Bernard F. Ostby, who were Bernard I. Ostby and his wife Edith Mami (--?--) [Ostby] Eyrich.  This information as found in the 1910 census of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and several other censuses as cited.  Sometime after the 1910 census these parents divorced and Edith remarried Henry G. Eyrich and in 1920 they were living in St. Paul with her daughter, Muriel Ostby, 12, in their household.  Very close to Bernard I. Ostby's household with the four sons of their marriage.  They are in households #169 and #170 of Ward 1 of St. Paul.  2) Added Henry G. Eyrich as the second husband of Edith Mami (--?--) Ostby.
16 May 2008:    5476      Added five children of Joseph and Louisa (Mason) Phillips as found in several US and Iowa State censuses of Oskaloosa, Mahaska Co., Iowa.  These children were siblings of Walter Roscoe Phillips.
13 May 2008:    5471      Found from the 1925 Iowa State Census that Louisa/Louise (--?--) Phillips, the mother of all of the sons of Joseph Phillips, was named Louisa/Louise Mason.
12 May 2008:    5471      Added the parents of Walter Roscoe Phillips, who were found in the 1900 census of Oskaloosa, Mahaska Co., Iowa.  They were Joseph Phillips and his wife Louisa (--?--) Phillips of Pennsylvania and Indiana.  Also added some more information about Walter Roscoe Phillips as found in his WWI Draft Registration.  This source shows that he was born on 18 Apr 1886 rather than 1888 as shown by other sources and it seems to suggest that in 1918 he was married to a Maxine Phillips, who was living in Oskaloosa, Mahaska Co., Iowa, then.
30 Apr. 2008:    5469      Identified the Donald Elliott, who was the second spouse of Mabel Leota (Tucker) Culler, as Donald Raymond Elliott, born 3 May 1906 in South Dakota and died 18 Aug 1998 in Multnomah Co., Oregon.  Information for this update came from several cited sources, but mainly from correspondence with a living grandson of Mabel (Tucker) [Culler] Elliott, whose mother knew that Donald's middle name was Raymond and that he was born in 1906.  Also added the first wife of Donald R. Elliott, who was Laura B. (--?--), as found in the 1930 census of San Louis Obispo, California.
29 Apr. 2008:    5468      1) Revised the name of the second wife of Ernest Dwight Ryerson from Mary M. (--?--) to Mary M. Moreno, and revised their marriage date and location.  This update based on information from a living granddaughter of Mary's sister.  2) Added a Mr. Price who was the second husband of Leta Pearline Baxter after she and Benjamin Robert Tucker were divorced.  Added Wilbur Lewis Culler who was the first spouse of Mabel Leota Tucker, daughter of Benjamin R. Tucker and Leta P. Baxter.  Added Loren Lewis Culler, son of Wilbur L. Culler and Mabel Leota Tucker.  Added Donald Elliott who was the second spouse of Mabel (Tucker) Culler and was step-father to Loren Lewis Culler who was either adopted or simply took the Elliott surname for his own.  Added Judith Ann Carrel as wife of Loren Lewis Culler/Elliott, and one of their living children., and he used the Elliott surname for their children.  One of those Living Elliott children is the main source of information for this update.
25 Apr. 2008:    5462     1) Added three children of Walter Roscoe Phillips and Esther Julia (Failor) Phillips.  Information as provided by one of those living children and obituarys of two of them.  2) Added the name of the previously unknown wife of Benjamin Robert Tucker, who was Lela Baxter, and added their daughter Mabel Leota Tucker.  Information for this addition came from a living grandson of Benjamin Robert Tucker and his wife, and from the 1920 census of Winslow, Arizona, and the California Birth Index database on Ancestry.com.

16 Apr. 2008:    5458      Added the 1900 census of Emmons, Minnesota, and the World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918, database as new sources for the date of birth for Carl G. Emmons, son of George H. and Esther Lena (Robinson) Emmons.  His date of birth recorded for his burial, 12/26/83 (i.e. 26 Dec 1883), conflicts with other sources and the 1900 census and his WWI draft card are confirming sources for the correct date being 26 Dec 1882.
112 Apr. 2008:    5458      Disovered that Sarah Rebecca (Emerson) Emmons died in Freeborn Co., Minnesota in 1972 even though her last residence address per Social Security Administration was Marshalltown, Iowa.  According to the Minnesota Death Index her mother's maiden name was Harvey.  Also found William Emerson and Mary (Harvey) Emerson, spelled with two m's were living in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, in the 1870 census.  That census showed that they were married in September, 1869, less than one year before the census date.
11 Apr. 2008:    5458      Revised the birth date of Marjorie Emmons, daughter of Carl G. Emmons and Sarah Rebecca Emerson, to be between 7 May 1914 and the end of 1914 in North Dakota.  This change was made because I found in The Evening Tribune, newspaper of Albert Lea, Minnesota, a clipping indicating that Mrs. Carl Emmons and her mother Mrs. Mary Emerson were honored at May 7, 1914 farewell party in Kiester, Minnesota, before they left for their new home in Carrington, North Dakota.  Clipping was found on Heritage Quest Online via Godfrey Memorial Library.
9 Apr. 2008:    5458      Again revised death information of William Emerson because I found that Mrs. Mary Emerson was apparently a widow in the 1905 Minnesota State Cemsus of Kiester Twp., Faribault Co.  She is shown as the head of the household which includes four children.  He died between 1900 and 1905 which is before the Minnesota Death Index was recording deaths.
8 Apr. 2008:    5458      Revised death information for William Emerson and life information for his daughter, Sarah Rebecca Emerson, amd her marriage to Carl G. Emmons.  Information for this update came primarily from the 1910 census of Kiester Twp., Faribault Co., Minnesota, where William Emerson's wife is a widow and living with her daughter Sadie R. Emerson and son Nelson W. Emerson.  Kiester Twp., Faribault Co. is one township west of Nunda Twp., Freeborn Co., and is probably where Sarah Emerson and Carl Emmons were married.
4 Apr. 2008:    5458      Revised and added details about Anna Jacks, her marriage to George Harvey Emmons and her parents.  Information for this addition came from additional correspondence with a living granddaughter.
3 Apr. 2008:    5458      Added Helen Jacks, another daugher of Michael Jacks and Dora Kelly, and also found in the 1920 and 1930 censuses of Albert Lea, Freeborn Co., Minnesota.  This information was also supported by correspondence with a living granddaughter of George Harvey and Anna (Jacks) Emmons.
2 Apr. 2008:    5457      Added Michael Jacks and Dora Kelly who were the parents of Anna Jacks, wife of George Harvey Emmons.  The information for this addition came from the 1920 and 1930 censuses of Albert Lea, Freeborn Co., Minnesota, and from the Minnesota Death Index, 1908-2002.  This information was also supported by correspondence with a living granddaughter of theirs.
1 Apr. 2008:    5455      Added eight living persons who are spouses of children of George Harvey Emmons and Anna Jacks and children of their families.  Information for this addition is from correspondence with one of those living descendants.
31 Mar. 2008:    5447      Revised the full name of Harvey Emmons, son of Carl G. Emmons and Sadie Rebecca (Emerson) Emmons, to George Harvey Emmons.  This information came from correspondence with a living granddaughter of George Harvey Emmons.  As a result of this correspondence I was also able to add life details and sources for his wife Anna Jacks, of which I previously knew very little.
21 Mar. 2008:    5447      Added James M. Pennington, who was the first spouse of Elizabeth Armelda Blakley.  They were married 19 Nov 1871 in Scott Co., Tennessee, and he died in December 1874.  On 30 Mar 1876 M.(Melda) E. Pennington married Lewis Thompson, and he became the step-father of at least one child from her first marriage, and they were the parents of Martha J. Thompson among several other children.  This information comes primarily from online databases of the Scott County, Tennessee, GenWeb Site, and the Scott Co. Historical Society.  I had previously shown that Elizabeth Armelda Blakeley probably married Lewis Thompson about 1870, but that was proven to be incorrect.

Whitman was living.  This correspondent went to the local library and found her obituary, which indicated that she was not Janette (Nunn) Whitman.
29 Feb. 2008:    5446      Added death information for Porter F. Ritchie or Thomas Porter Ritchie and his wife Carrie Cornelia (Deming) Ritchie, and changed his preferred name to Thomas Porter Ritchie.  The death information came from the Ancestry.com online database Ohio Deaths, 1908-1932, 1938-1944, and 1958-2002.  This same source showed that his name was Thomas P. Ritchie, and was the final straw that convinced me to change his preferred name from Porter F. Ritchie which had been found in several censuses.
23 Feb. 2008:    5446      Added birth location and name information for Sarah/Sally Griswold, who was the second wife of Lardner Deming, as found in the 1850 census of Berlin, Hartford Co., Connecticut.
10 Feb. 2008:    5446      Added 19 individuals who are descendants of Charles Archer Braley and Blanch Lilla (Bennett) Braley, spouses of those descendants and the parents of one of those spouses.  This information comes from correspondence with one of those living descendants who is a researcher of her ancestry.
2 Feb. 2008:    5427      Discovered that the full name of Clifford S. Griswold was Clifford Standish Griswold and that his wife's maiden name was Nora Brewer. This information came from his biography in Who's who in New England for 1909 by Albert Nelson Marquis.  His biography also gave his birth place and date and his marriage place and date.  The 1880 census of New Haven gave additional information on birth date and place for Nora Brewer.
31 Jan. 2008:    5427      Corrected and revised citations of the source History of the Graves and Fletcher Families a book that provided facts about the descendants of Julina Graves and her husband Joseph Braley.
27 Jan. 2008:    5427      Ancestry.com revised and re-indexed the 1850 census of Vermilion Co., Illinois, and this affected two of my citations of that census.  The changes allowed me to find the family of Rufus Estes in the 1850 census of Illinois and it required me to change the citation for the family of John Swain and his wife, Nancy Cole.  Having found Rufus Estes and his parents in 1850, I was able to find his father, Laban Estes, in the 1840 census of Franklin Co., Illinois.

Griswold who was the wife of Humphrey Metcalf Blaisdell, born 1910, and their two known living children.  Information for this update came primarily from the California Births Database and the Social Security Death Index.  2) Added Martin Peter Storni who was the spouse of a Living Christensen descendant Edgar Rice Braley, and added their daughter, Cynthia Lynne Stornie, her husband, Paul Douglas Korber, and a living child.  Information for this update came from correspondence with a living researcher, the California Births Database and the California Deaths Database.

14 Jan. 2008:    5418      Based on a report from a correspondent who had discovered that Earnest S. Christensen and Ruby May Braley were married and living in Island Co., Washington in the 1920 census, I revised my estimate of when they were married.  Also because I found his World War I draft registration in June 1917 at the Pasadena, California, draftboard, I discovered that he was born in Spencer, Iowa, and was not yet married.
12 Jan. 2008:    5418      Found a biography of the father of George Hillier, Jr. in a book, Portrait and biographical album of Rock Island County, Illinois that is online at Heritage Quest.  That biography indicates that George Hillier, Sr. immigrated from England to Nova Scotia Province of Canada in 1827 with his parents. In December 1845 he married there and his first few children were born there.  George, Jr. was his first son and was born in Nova Scotia.  About 1850 the family immigrated to the United States and came to Rock Island Co., Illinois by 1852.
11 Jan. 2008:    5418      Added the parents of Bessie Adecia Hillier, the wife of Neil Allen Holt.  They were George Hillier, Jr. and Alice Bardsley, his wife.  Information for this update was found in various censuses of the Quad-Cities area of Iowa and Illinois, the California Deaths Database and the Illinois Statewide Marriages and Deaths indexes.
9 Jan. 2008:    5416      Found that the family of John M. [Millington] Holt and Maria Wilhelmina Hitchcock was described in a book, The descendants of Nicholas Holt (Hoult, or Holte), born in 1602 in Ramsey, England, compiled in 1926 by Alice B. and Arthur G. Holt, and published in 1970 by the Illinois DAR.  That book is online at Heritage Quest.  Based on that description I revised the names of their three children, added Georgiana Bixby, who was the second wife of John Millington Holt, and added Bessie Adecia Hillier, who was the wife of Neil Allen Holt.  Information about her death was found in the California Deaths Database.
8 Jan. 2008:    5414      Corrected the spelling of the first name of Neil A. Holt from Niel A. Holt.  It was spelled Neil on his WWI Draft Registration Card, the Social Security Death Index and the California Deaths Database, and that is the generally common spelling.  It was spelled Niel in the 1900 Census and by two correspondents, which is a common error.
